We are happy to announce that in June the project “Do not Delay!” continued its work and the Pink Bus, equipped with mobile breast cancer screening unit and the team of professional doctors, travelled all over the country to encourage women to take care of their health. The Pink Bus visited Molėtai, Kaišiadorys, Lazdijai, Varėna, Jurbarkas, Rokiškis, Utena, Radviliškis, Širvintai, Šilalė, Birštonas, Kretinga, Palanga and more other towns. With the support and help of professional doctors approximately 1800 women were tested for breast cancer during the month.

The coordinator of the Pink Bus Ms. Daiva  is proud that “Do Not Delay!” project team is always welcomed by people and women are always grateful for opportunity when they can have not only their breast screened for cancer but also get a professional advice from a doctor regarding the healthcare issues.

 Most of women who had their breasts screened by “Do not Delay!” team shared their fairs, telling that it was very scary to go for a screen because they were afraid to get positive results. Only when the results came negative the stress and tension disappeared and women could feel more positive and safe about their health. Although, not all screening results came negative, doctors diagnosed 21 malignancy tumours. Hopefully, early diagnosis will help these women beat the cancer.
